Embossing Roller Maintenance Tips You Should Know

To maintain embossing roller surface patterns, regular cleaning treatments are needed, such as acid pickling for rust removal and organic solvent degreasing to ensure a clean, contaminant-free surface. Mechanical sandblasting is one of the most effective methods. Sandblasting increases the roller surface roughness, expanding the bonding interface area by several to dozens of times, correspondingly improving the adhesion between surface patterns and the embossing roller. The surface irregularities produced by sandblasting enhance the bonding strength of the embossing roller surface.
Additionally, keep embossing rollers dry to prevent re-rusting. Especially in summer, airborne moisture can form a water film on the treated roller surface, causing rust. Regular maintenance of embossing rollers is also important, especially the surface patterns. Clean promptly to prevent debris from clogging the pattern grooves. When cleaning, use specific tools, avoid brute force, and carefully clean along the pattern direction.
